Drag-N-Drop (DND)

There are a number of DND techniques SnackAmp supports with the native operating systems (Windows & Linux). The table below summarizes the DND sources and keys used to invoke them.

Drag-N-Drop is very useful for things like playing shoutcast or podcast files off the web, dragging tracks to your favorite CD burner or other such things.

DND Sources

AutoPlaylist Manager Location Key Explanation
Checked Indicator in lower right hand corner Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all files and folders under the highlighted folder that are checked (i.e. part of the AutoPlaylist) to the target.
Total Indicator in lower right hand corner Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all files and folders under the highlighted folder to the target.
Highlighted Folder in folder tree Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all files and folders under the highlighted folder to the target.
Highlighted tracks in the right hand track table. Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all selected files under the highlighted folder to the target.
     
Main SnackAmp GUI Key Explanation
Track Title Label Left Mouse Button Drag Will drop the currently play track on the target.
Track Count Indicator just above the playlist. Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all tracks in the playlist to the target.
Highlighted Tracks in Playlist Alt-Left Mouse Button Drag Will drag all selected tracks in the playlist to the target.

DND Targets

AutoPlaylist Manager Location Drag Source Explanation
A node on the AutoPlaylist Folder Tree Web Link or Normal Link If it is a link or to an image, the image will be copied over as folder.xxx into the target. This is assumed to be cover art. Non jpg/png files are ignored.
Cover Art Viewer for the AutoPlaylist Manager Web Link or Normal Link If it is a link to an image, the image will be copied over as folder.xxx into the folder linked to the cover art viewer (the highlighted folder). This is assumed to be cover art. Non jpg/png files are ignored.
     
Main SnackAmp GUI Drag Source Explanation
Cover Art Viewer for the AutoPlaylist Manager Web Link or Normal Link If it is a link or to an image, the image will be copied over as folder.xxx to the folder containing the currently playing track. This is assumed to be cover art. Non jpg/png files are ignored
SnackAmp Title Area Web Link or Normal Link Image files: Image copied as folder.xxx to folder containing currently playing track.

podcast xml file: Creates a urllink in the playlist for each podcast file and starts playing the first link.

m3u/pls playlists: Creates a playlist entry for each track found in the playlist, if the entry is a url, a urllink is created so the track is played off the network.

mp3/ogg/wave files: Creates a playlist entry for each track, if the link is a url, a urllink is created so the track is played off the network.

SnackAmp Playlist Web Link or Normal Link Same behavior as the Title Area, except the links are created at the drop location in the playlist.
